I decided to create a 3dsmax exporter for maratis engine.
http://www.maratis3d.org/
The reason is that I do not want to use blender.
I'm a hardcore 3dsmax user (11years now), and I do not see any reason as to why I should
be limited to use blender only.
There where also some errors with the blender->3dsmax workflow, the pivot point got messed up
which made it impossible to work with.
I've got 3 exporters under my belt now, ( luxrender , ogre3d (in progress), and now maratis).
I started on it yesterday, and today the mesh export is finished.
It exports a 50mb ascii file in less then a second.
The mesh routine is c++, the rest of the exporter (shaders, animation definition) will be made in pure maxscript.
I might also create a mesh routine directly in maxscript as a fallback solution if plugin is not installed.
I have uploaded the current version here if anyone wants to take it for a spin..
